NRC of Canned Vegetables interested in LIFECITRUS project

The National Reference Center (NRC) for Canned Vegetable, dependent on the Integrated Center for Training and Agrarian Experiments (Cifea) of Segura Molina (Council of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fishery of CARM) completes the first year of its work with the course of New alternatives in the supply of vegetable waste.

The LIFECITRUS project has been invitated on its conference on the 10th of september to give participants, national-level trainers, an in-line solution to the Circular Economy concept through the valorization of waste proposed.

The National Reference Centers (NRC) are public centers for innovation and experimentation in the field of vocational training which receive funding for activities through the General Administration of the Spanish State, which annually signs a work plan in which the actions are taken of national scope between the Public Service of State Government, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and the Autonomous Communities. These centers are considered of excellence, both in the development of research actions and in the delivery of courses, because of what the interest shown by LIFECITRUS evaluates the good work developed by the consortium. It is possible to propose a solution of interest for the new technical aspects of the agrofood sector.

The work plan of the NRC for Canned Vegetables has included the development of four training courses aimed at updating the technical skills of the professional education teachers of the food industry specialty throughout the national territory. These courses have a total of 140 hours of training, addressing cutting-edge technical aspects, such as innovative solutions in packaging and active packaging, food safety, new alternatives in the supply of vegetable waste and new technologies for aseptic canning, among others.
